About Why Joomla?

Our Mission: To make using joomla simple.

Its getting increasingly confusing for people to choose between the tons of platforms and options available for building websites.

The aim of Why Joomla? is to make it easier to understand how this great CMS works and hopefully inspire your creativity and enjoyment when making innovative spaces on the web with it.

How was the site built?

This site's been around for a couple of years now - we've always made attempts to keep the interface clean and focus on content.  Since its inception, we've been blogging with Joomla and committed to exemplfying how simple it is to do so.

In early 2009 we (design guru) released Seedling Joomla - a complete package of Joomla 1.5 including a pre-configured core along with 3rd party extensions; migrating the old (1.x) website was really simple and the site you're looking at is almost a stock install of Seedling!

Who we are:

Why Joomla? is a blog of design guru - a web production studio in Toronto, Canada.

Through it, we're hoping to share a ton of tips and tricks we've picked up over the past 3+ years of using joomla (& mambo, its previous incarnation) and are excited to hear your thoughts, comments and whatever else !

As we also work with Drupal, an amazingly robust Open Source CMS, we've recently launched a sister blog to this site called Why Drupal? - be sure to check it out.

You'll note that our principal, Qasim Virjee, usually does most of the blogging; feel free to drop comments on posts and take part in all the brainstorming he's doing! :)
