This excellent personal website really exemplifies how Joomla can work as an easy publishing platform and not be restricted aesthetically to a standard 3-column geeky interface.

Lots of white space is calming and Iztok Klančar, a photographer , writer and web designer, has done a really nice job of keeping it simple - not trying to load up the site with extensions and instead make the basics work smoothly.
