One major thing to keep in mind when developing websites that allow people to meet and stay in touch with each other is that its got to be easy - at base, your site should make finding people quick and fast.

Incase you've missed it, there's a pretty cool component that makes Community Builder an even more attractive feature of Joomla sites: its called Community Builder Advanced Search (go figure) and will let site users filter searches by any field defined in CB - including custom fields... so long as they are published to a user's profile.

Honestly, this functionality should be included in the CB core, but hey, those poor chaps already have a lot on their shoulders - its good to see other developers stepping in and lending a hand (we'll let Nant keep working on getting us audio and video support for CB profiles in the meantime! ;) )

The Advanced Search component is nice, but it look like nobody work on it any more. This component have some bugs and very hard to find him on Joomlapolise site. Why the CB team not give more intention to that piece of code ?

It appears CB Advanced Search has passed away. The website is unhelpful and the repository isn't there.

Hello, I agree that this great component should be included in the CB core. That is so basic social network feature. I also found a great Hack to this component: http://tech.amikelive.com/node-6/community-builder-advanced-search-search-by-age-interval-and-avatar-only-unofficial-hack/ "This hack will enable search for members with certain age ranges, defined by user. This hack will also add extra filter to show only member with avatar / thumbnail photo." Check it out.

Andy the web address you should go to is emptorum dot com. The component is still being developed and support is available on the website. I think you must have been using the wrong link.

I've been to emptorum several times over the last few months and there doesn't seem to be any life on the project by the creator. I don't think he's responded to any posts for several months at all.
